IRC may be a bit overboard for a company? Depends on your needs I 
suppose.  In addition to Jabber, you may wish to try GAIM 
(gaim.sourceforge.net).  I use it for AOL IM, and it's useable with 
other protocols including ICQ and MSN Messenger.
