LOL That is Bob for you at teh only meeting i have been to was the one at
pete's house and he was installing it on a laptop and i mentioned how MDK
auto installed crap and he said w"ell even if i know what i am picking i use
indival section becuase that is the kind of guy i am" So LOL i use mdk and i
had to install teh kernal stuff when i tired VMWARE becuase it needed to
addstuff to it....

I also didn't have dhcp. IIRC, I didn't install anything from the
Development division because I'm not a software developer.
So apparently I don't even have a kernel compiler. I just followed the
choices in a Mandrake install walkthrough
I found some where, so I'm probably lacking on administrative and search
tools.
I was wondering if Bob or anyone else would care to post a list of
recommended rpms for stand alone desktop
user's box running KDE. I do also have some Gnome apps in, but they run in
KDE.
Then I could find the common denominators.
