Hmmm... I guess I should read the subject line before replying... :-(

You're going to need to set up PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) to get it working.  In
Mandrake 9.1, you use the mandrake control center and go to
Network&Internet->Connection.  You can use the wizard to set up ADSL on the
machine.  It should work fine.  You need your Verison username and password. 
This all works if you're using the Ethernet connection on the thing.  If you're
using USB, you go hungry bow...bow...bow...
