i watched the nyc blackout on TV... after i turned on the air conditioner...
the major networks were reporting a failure at the Lewiston power plant
while the spokesperson from the NYPA at Lewiston reported on local TV that
everything was fine there. we should soon hear that the cause was an "act of
god" (for insurance and liability purposes)

Buffalo had a few brownouts actually..
Nothing major downtown, some people were without power for a few minutes
or so in other buildings. Our building got hit by three brownouts but
our power plants kicked in fine..
It's going to be unstable for at least the next couple of days..
One of the interesting things I heard from some of the power guys is
that all the main relays that¹s supposed to kick in to avert the
problems and/or to bring the systems back up aren¹t working..
But who knows currently whats conjecture and whats fact....
