squirrelmail performance

I'm using SM 1.2.11 at the moment, and just installed the php_accelerator,
and the imap proxy (from the link provided), and all I can say is "wow!".
The php_accelerator works great and has dramatically increased my
webservers performance.

Secondly, I'm trying to get my head admin to open up imap to one server (a
separate webmail server), but his main rebuttal each time is the # of
connections that IMAP makes. I've got the imap proxy on my webmail
system, along with php_accelerator, and told the proxy to connect to my
own system... and it too, flies.

Slowly, I may be inching toward the removal of an an archaic buggy
VisualMail 3.0, using POP3, to SquirrelMail. However, I too have tried SM
1.4.0, and have had issues with it. I'll stick with the 1.2 series as
well, for a little while at least.

All in all, thanks for the link... you've made my life happier for at
least one day.
