OS X and SMB

I can get OS X to mount samba drives via connect to server, how do I get
them to remount at login? I can also create mount points in /Volumes, and
mount via  mount_smbfs. But then the icons don't show on the desktop. I'd
like to have the mac mount network drives at login, anybody play with
this?
