php upload size?

Just to chime in...

This has no bearing on your problem or on a possible solution, but make sure 
that if this system will be accessable by untrusted sources that you are 
running one of the latest versions of PHP.  Earlier versions were subject to 
a severe vulnerability in the file upload function.
