(a certain cable conglomerate)

Well, interesting thread. I used to work for this certain cable
conglomerate, but quit due to the inproprieties (sp?) of the company. I
was one of the senior tech support personnel, but the job got reduced to
doing stupid stuff all day rather than any real troubleshooting. Also,
with the hiring freeze in the Unix dept, there was no future there for me.

I can say with certainty though that if the smtp servers are overwhelmed
the Unix personnel will actually go in and clear the queue so that the mail
will work again. Why this is necessary is anyone's guess. But I know for
a fact also that they do NOT like the customers to know this fact. Another
senior tech got ROYALLY reamed for honestly informing a customer of this fact.
You are actually supposed to feign stupidity and 'ask the customer to
resend the email'.
This was completely unacceptable to me, and others, but I finally got fed
up with all the BS and decided that it was time to move on with my life and
career.

Since I no longer work for the company, they really can't say squat to me
anymore :-)
Finally I can be honest about them and their 'incredible' service ;-0

As you can see, I do not use their mail servers either.. I have always
relied on my localnet dialup account, they know how to do mail :-)
