a meeting and then a workshop sounds good to me. a brief could be covered at
the meeting. a few weeks later a workshop on the subject might be provided.
theory and hands-on.

I like the idea of meeting twice a month..in fact this has been mentioned a
few times before.

It could even be split up so that one meeting is a "structured" meeting i.e.
like a workshop,
while the other is more open in nature..
