I don't remember who was having the samba problem with w2k or if they are still having it but.....

I too was having a problem, not with the w2k computer getting into Linux but trying to get into the w2k computer from Linux. I stumbled upon this and it rocked right on in....

"mount -t smbfs -o username=useronw2k,password=whatever //w2kcomputer/sharename /mnt/wherever
<BR>
Try that and see how it works, hope this helps, btw this was on Mandrake 8.2
