redhat 7.2

When compiling a kernel on 7.2, you need to add the following if
configuring with an NIC (or loopback for that matter):

Netlink socket
routing messages

They are both located under Networking options (if using either menuconfig
or xconfig).

Also, the loopback device (located under block devices) will not compile.
This is primarily used for CD-Writers, or if you want to mount an iso
image.

I forget what has to be done, but the loop.c file needs to have a library
removed from the source. They removed the library from 2.4.14 (due to
deprecation), but failed to remove the reference from the loop.c file.
Removeing the reference does NOT impair functionality.

If anyone really needs to know what to remove from loop.c, I can probably
look it up.

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but
they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.
