I've never tried it in Linux but Winfax Pro 8.0 or above works great for
voice and fax answering, I wouldn't be surprised to see it work in Linux,

Subject: answering machine in Linux

Hi all -

Does anyone know of an anwering machine/speakerphone program in Linux?
I've searched linux.tucows, linux.DaveCentral, CNET, et al, and only found
one speakerphone program which doesn't work too well. Also tried using
a windows prog called Communicate Pro, but it won't work under WINE,
either using WINE's dll files, or windows native dll's. I figure if my
SuSE box is running all the time anyway, I might as well use it for such
services, instead of paying Bell. While I'm online, I use CallWave
(internet answering machine), again a windows program. So in order to have
Callwave running at the same time that I surf in Linux (two separate
machines networked together), I had to use WinGate. This way I dial out
with Windows but surf on the Linux box. Anyway, any knowledge on such a
program would help me to simplify things.

Thanks muchly, mein Gurus.
