SAMBA

2.0, with some hacking works just fine. If you want to play with it,
install SWAT as it gives a web based front end for SAMBA (and has all the
hidden goodies that you can do listed and available for modification).
You'll need to edit your samba files once you've completed configuration
using SWAT, but the mods are minimal. It's the easiest way to get a SAMBA
server up and running, and you can peruse the config files once complete to
see just how it works. A great learning tool.

I have begun reading the SAMBA book. and I see that in 2.0 they do not
support
the NT domain authentication model, but promise it in 2.1, What version are
you folks using that have SAMBA machines as PDC's and do you use NT clients?
