MTU

I "kinda" found the answer.  1st, ifup is called by the network init.d
script.  ifup itself is a shell script.  According to the shell script, if
I don't input an IP address, then the MTU can be adjusted, else the MTU is
ignored.

Before I go monkeying with my eth0 device, I should figure out why they
would write it that way.
