If the media isn't write protected, make sure it's not mounted read
only.. Type mount and the last entry on every line is either (rw)
for read-write or (ro) for read only.<br>

If it's mounted read-only, run this command to make it writable-<br>

mount -o remount,rw /<span style="font-style: italic;">device</span>/<span style="font-style: italic;">name<br>
