I feel obligated to add fuel to the fire. All graphical desktop
environments should be abolished, their creators tortured or sent to
Gitmo for good ole' American TLC. The command line environment still
works best...and I work on a Mac most of the time. Any Desktop
environment I've ever read about provides dozens of _keyboard
shortcuts_ since the point and click method is beyond boring...it the
slowest way of entering a complex command I can think of and I type
with my feet. Now, where did I put my "obsolete" keyboard? Whoops, it's
the mouse that is obsolete. There may be some physically impaired
people for whom a mouse or similar device is essential, but most
physically impaired deserve a great deal of credit for finding ways of
making a keyboard work for them.<br>

I long for the days that I edited on a DEC PDP-11/34 under Edi (editor)
with a DECWRITER under the RSX/11M Operating System. Programmers were
_real_ men in those days.<br>
