I would be intrested in learning more about Samba and Sun. I think
that would be a great topic at the meeting.

Meeting Topic

Has anyone gotten samba to work well as a
PDC in an NT/W2K environment? If so I'd like to see it. I use samba here
on our file servers (faster, I can run linux on them, and I can run it on
intel hardware), but the stations login to a Sun PCNetlink (solaris box) for
domain authentication. I found in the past the samba PDC support lacking, hard
to configure, and even harder to administer. The PCNetlink works well with
existing Microsoft User/Server configuration tools, you can stick in an NT
administrator, give him his usual tools, and he'd never be able to tell you he
wasn't using an NT 4 domain controller, well maybe, he wouldn't need to reboot
it every couple of weeks.

Maybe Samba as a topic. I know someone
wanted to play with a Sun Station, I could do a little something on PCNetlink
along with the solaris load. I know that not really the focus, this is a linux
group, maybe a samba/pc netlink tag team in a production
environment?

Just an Idea.

Justin

--
