also to use /dev/scd0, check to see if you have something like hdd=ide-scsi in your boot config, check your /etc/lilo.conf file, I add that all the time, then tell whatever my ide cd-rom drive is, that it is /dev/scd0, this is a nice workaround as Linux seems to work much better with scsi emulation and the supermount command lines in /etc/fstab don't have a problem with xmms then, it is a pretty neat little work around
