Hi all, I had a
little time so I tried cfdisk /dev/hdd, cfdisk /dev/hdd4,
cfdisk /dev/scd0, all of which got me a fatal error, press any key to return,
and fdisk /dev/hdd, fdisk /dev/scd0 etc. etc. which resulted in unable to
open disk. I don't have time right now to go into my boot config. file, I'm
hoping to get to that tomorrow . Might I be doing something the wrong
way?

also to use /dev/scd0, check to see if you have something like
hdd=ide-scsi in your boot config, check your /etc/lilo.conf file, I add that
all the time, then tell whatever my ide cd-rom drive is, that it is /dev/scd0,
this is a nice workaround as Linux seems to work much better with scsi
emulation and the supermount command lines in /etc/fstab don't have a problem
with xmms then, it is a pretty neat little work around
On Mon, 2002-06-17
