[nflug] AMD64 Debian 'Etch' Stability

I've been working with pcs since Apple ll days (1986 or so) and Linux
since Red Hat 6 days, Red Hat, since that time RH had always done the
twice the ram method for swap. I did not have the luxury of school, all
self taught, while raising a family and running home building business.
Now I run a computer business full time that is almost exclusively
Linux, that alone for 10 years. As I had explained (shortly) in my
original post, my question was more out of curiosity regarding swap,
because, it would seem that sometimes on "relatively" similar boxes, I
would get different usage of ram/swap. I was wondering if the swap usage
is related to the swap size in general, not necessarily the ram size.
I'm fully aware of the fact that processes=ram, in case I didn't make
that clear. I've also been a member of this LUG for about 8 years as
well and used to hold many of the meetings in my home.
So, now that you know a bit about me, you might see that just knowing
theory is not good enough for me, I want to see it work in relative,
practical instances because that's what I'll do with it.

p.s. For those that might regard this as flame, it's not intended that
way. It wouldn't hurt for all of us to know each other better.
