[nflug] Listserv/SMTP server/mail quota question

Good afternoon all!

Been a while since I posted to the list, but have a question that needs to get answered ASAP :)

Whenever a mailing list application (such as mailman) sends out an email to members of a listing, does the target SMTP server treat each recipient as one email?  I am under the impression that it is, just as I am under the impression that the same applies when sending out CCs of an email using an email client.

If anyone could shed some light on this, that would be greatly appreciated.
