I have seen this also, yes. It'll sometimes get stuck and start playing 
a single sound endlessly like a broken record and "kill" or "kill -9" is 
the only way out. Enough to drive you crazy quickly Very strange. Wish I 
could help with a solution, but I'm clueless. I've had it happen in 
sabayon, also, however, so I'm thinking it must be flash and not ubuntu. 
  Of course, if flash was OPEN, it probably would have been dealt with 
by now.

Just wanted to let you know you're not alone in this.
Good to know it's not just me trashing things again, too. ;-)

Thankfully, "kill -9" exists. Don't know how I ever coped before 
learning that one. I seem to have a knack for making things go haywire.
