[nflug] Fixing adept on Ubuntu

I ran adept on kubuntu and tried to do an update by accident.  It crashed.
Now, even after a cold boot, it says another adept process is running 
and I can't change anything.

How do I fix this?  Is there a lock file somewhere I can delete, etc.?
