I went in through the system menus as I thought I was supposed to.  I 
did not do stuff to re-enable the cups web interface.  I thought you 
meant that it was unnecessary to do that.

So I should start over by deleting the printer, enabling the cup web 
interface, and using that to install the printer.

I'll try that.
