[nflug] Flash player 7 and Firefox

I just went to a website that won't let me do anything without
flashplayer 7 (I have 6). It took me to adobe's site and I downloaded 7
for Linux.
I ran the install script and it wanted to install it for Mozilla or
Netscape. I chose Mozilla which put the files in
$HOME/.mozilla/plugins. This didn't do anything for Firefox 1.5.0.2.
Then, I found an old flash plugins directory in /usr/lib and updated
that. Nada. Then, my brain kicked in and I copied the files to
~/installs/firefox/plugins (where FF is actually installed - I haven't
fixed it for global install yet). I was sure that would work, but
nothing happened.

Each time I tested, I closed and reopened FF.

The files are flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so .

1) Where is the equivalent of Help->About->Plugins in Firefox?

2) Where is the plugins manager? I found a download setting for
Shockwave Flash files, but all it would let me do is switch between open
with what it thought was the right app or download to file. (I think it
was for .swf files which is probably not the same as plain flash anyway.)

3) Where do I put the Flash stuff so FF finds it?

Joe
