[nflug] Clean URL's with mod_rewrite

A long time ago I found a nice tutorial describing how to have
mod_rewrite rules that take the address (Ex
domain.com/test/a.php?id=5) and rewrites to (domain.com/test/a/5)

How can I do this with mod_rewrite. I have searched but I don't know
what to exactly search for. Any help would be great!
