Change your engine under the Settings-Configure Amarok menu. Make sure 
you have the amarok-engines package installed, and the amarok-xine 
engine installed if you want to use that one. I use that one and it 
works great. I've never even seen Helix as an engine for Amarok, see 
what it's using.
