Yep, asterisk support T-1 cards, POTS line cards.etc..

If you go to the digium site: http://www.digium.com/

you'll see all of the cards they offer that work with asterisk.

Heres most of the list:

Also, if you want to just try out a plain POTS line with asterisk as a test
base, I can show you where to get a single line POTS asterisk card for about
$8.00

We primarily use asterisk for our voicemail system. It allows us to not only
have a voicemail system, but an entire PBX and VOIP capability both
internal to the office and through external VOIP providers

Has anyone in the group installed a voicemail system using a Linux solution?
I was looking for a stand alone system that would hook up to different PBXs.

Mine would be a Merlin 820. I'm sure there is a large demand for something
like this.

Just thought I would throw it out there...

I'm aware of asterisk but I though that was mostly for VOIP systems. Is
there a way to build an internal PBX using regular POTS lines?

How about features like transfer calls, conference call, displaying which
lines are in use?

Thanks for the info

Brett
