Problems Installing Mandrake 8.0 on Intel P4 mother board

I am waiting for the arrival of my Mandriva 10.1 CDs which should be here
hopefully next week :)

Well, my first recommendation is to get a set of mandrake 10.1 or 10.0 disks
 

8.0 is very old and may have a problem with newer boards with unknown IDE

controllers. The newer versions have better IDE support.
