fc3 & palm

Has anyone in the group got there Palm to work w/FC3?  I've done 
everything they say to on the web ie. update kernel, update udev, create 
the link from /dev/pilot to /dev/ttyUSB1, but the links aren't holding 
and from what I gather the trick is to go back to FC2.  The only reason 
I switched from FC2 to FC3 was I bought a FC book and it came with the 
disks.
