Loss of Menu and Wireless card

I started using apt-get because they had repositories for the mythtv 
stuff. IMHO it would seem that apt-get has more repositories but I could 
be wrong. apt-get works so I use it. The old adage would apply......if 
it aint broke, dont fix it.
