I did that. I saved your email from a long time ago and took all the (I
think) relative info from your smb.conf example and put them in. Currently
when I log onto my XP box, I can see my home folder in the network share,
etc. But if I try to join the domain, it keeps telling me access denied
and invalid user name and/or password.
1. Does anything need to be in this *.bat file or does it just need to see
it in there?
2. I saw a post somewhere where they said xp clients needed to "tone down"
some security options in the local security sections, like requiring
digitally encrypted signatures and the like, so I took there advise and
disabled them (3 options about digital encrypt with domains).
It should be seeing the domain, because it tells me that I have access
denied, etc and telling me I have the wrong name/password. And I can see
my home in the network places, etc. The samba logs all say I am a domain
controller, no error messages, etc.
So any ideas as to what could be wrong?

username file for the script.

to SAMBA. Carl sent me his copy of smb.conf file and a brief
explanation. I am getting stuck on the "logon script = %U.bat" line.
Just exactly how does this logon script get made? What is needed in it
and where should it reside? Any help? Thanks,
