Real Player

I believe RealPlayer installs the plugin files in your ~/.netscape/plugins
directory, or ~/.mozilla/plugins, or ~/.phoenix/plugins

Mplayer can play Windows Media Player files, along with DivX, Realplayer,
Quicktime 4/5/6, AAC, mp3, etc, etc, etc.

So the later is an option, but is not easy to build.  The Documentation is
lengthy, but thorough.
