I am on a lot of LowEndMac mailing lists, and I am used to seeing posts
out of order, and people asking why it happens. The mail server for
those lists also sends a lot of messages that say you have to reply or
you'll get bounced off the list, but you can ignore them and nothing
happens. It's free, so I guess since someone is donating time and/or
money to running it I just don't care. Remember having to dial up to
BBSes?

I for one think digests are awful; being able to search through
individual emails is better because you don't have to scroll through a
whole day of messages and headers to get to what you want. I consider
this list to be a goldmine of free reference material.
