I could help out in several areas. I tought college for about 8 years (got tied of the academic types) where I did math, physics, sata processing, and computer sciance.

We could do some Java, C, C++, Basic, Fortrain, and I know a lot more. In industry I did projects at Praxair, Xerox, GE, and many other places. So if ya wont an intro or more, yet me know. The most fun I was at Xerox for 4 years where I developed a system of AI for machine diagnostics.

I'd like to see us get a little better at scheduling
meetings and have room for mini-meetings. There is no
reason for indivduals not to meet for any given
project
(ie MythTV )on a weeknight or Saturday. I motion for
someone, and it could be on a rotating basis, to send
out when, where, what various members will meet. As we
approach the holidays this has historically been a
hard time for members to meet a prescheduled times. A
little bit of flexibility would be a great thing. So,
if you're interested in doing a project, post it here
and
let's get it on!!! Let's DO SOMETHING.
some topics i'm interested in are:
1. music recording
2. home automation/x10
3. networking stuff
4. mythtv
5. learn basic programming skills.

Anyone interested in these topics or post your wish
list. Let's make a plan. Between Mark and Bob and
Peter we seem to have a few places to meet. If others
would like to host all the better. This is an impotant
topic so please give any constructive criticism.

Rock on, Vlok
