Mandrake login problem

OK. I assume this means doing an rpm -e ....
I also assume I need to be in some sort of non-gui environment (at least
non-kde) when I do it. Can I just go to a virtual terminal, or do I
have to boot up in command line mode (e.g. from my mkcdrec backup CD)?
Usually, it's not good to uninstall things that you are actively using.

I've actually never had to uninstall anything on Linux yet! Pretty cool
for how long I've been using the system.

Thanks.

Joe
