This is true, but I believe that the ypbind rpm contains additional nis
tools. you just don't need to start the ypbind service in init.d

ypinit +m creates your initial setup in /var/yp. it's located in
/usr/lib/yp/ypinit. Once you do that, you go into /var/yp & modify the
Makefile so that it pushes whatever maps you want pushed (passwd, groups,
aliases, automount files, etc).

Next, create a src directory in /var/yp, and store the source files in
accordance to the desired maps (Modify the Makefile to search in src
instead of .)

Then, populate the src directory, and run make.

I forget where to control it, but Aurora is controlled via rc.sysinit.
So go into /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file. In there, I beleive you can set a
numerical value that tells Mandrake what to load during boot (Aurora, text
version of Aurora, or nothing at all).

IDsoftware has quake2 binaries on their ftp site. Those binaries contain
opengl drivers for the nvidia card. At per the quake binaries, Bob kept
getting memory crashes when trying to load on his GeForce2 card. When I
have some time, I'll try to compile the quake src on my other system (with
GeForce2 card) and see if that makes a difference. But you would want to
try the glquake binary in the bin directory under idstuff.
