Weird ftp/xinetd problems

Hi,
I just joined the list, but I was hoping someone could give me some insight
into this:
I set up proftpd 1.2.4 on my Redhat 7.2 system, and I was playing around
with connecting through a ssh tunnel. It worked fine, but now every
morning I get an entry in my /var/log/secure file that reads:
Apr 15 09:24:29 iris sshd[8121]: Did not receive identification string from
127.0.0.1
Apr 15 09:24:29 iris xinetd[684]: START: ftp pid=8124 from=127.0.0.1
Apr 15 09:24:29 iris xinetd[8124]: FAIL: ftp libwrap from=127.0.0.1
Apr 15 09:24:29 iris xinetd[684]: EXIT: ftp pid=8124 duration=0(sec)
The weird part about it is that I have iptables restrict access to ftp to
my machine only, and that I'm not connecting at the above time. I know
that the 127.0.0.1 shows up when I set up the ftp/ssh tunnel, but unless
someone else is trying to do the same, I don't know why this is showing up.
Thanks,
Jonathan.
