Yeah, should've thought to include >all< the important info! :-/

raiddev /dev/md0
     raid-level 1
     nr-raid-disks 2
     persistent-superblock 1
     chunk-size 32

     device /dev/sda3
     raid-disk 0
     device /dev/sdb3
     raid-disk 1

"By the book", as near as I can tell. I actually cut & pasted from the manpage, then changed the device names, etc.
Althought the most recent docs say you can actually boot from a RAID now, >I'm< not going to try it! ;-) This is pure, empty data space for the customer database. ...that is if I can get it to work! Somehow, I think the "abortive first attempt" with mismatched tools and drivers is where the problem arose. I've tried changing to "raid-level 0" and "persistent-superblock 0" and changing from "/dev/md0" to "/dev/md1" and all combinations thereof.

We don't have any Osage Orange, in fact very little lumber at all anymore. I'd recommend trying Niagara Lumber on Elm Street in E. Aurora 655-2142, if you haven't already.

I'm planning on making the next meeting, but I also planned on the last one, too. Can't figure out why small businesses aren't eating up the Linux/Samba combo! It's served <-pun ;-) us very well for the last 2.75 years! My headaches come from Win98! Server just runs w/o complaint.

Well, hope this give you a clue as to what I messed up.

Best regards,
Greg
