Mandrake 8.0 Growing Pains

Everyone boasted about Mandrake 8.0 at the meeting I decided to snatch a
copy and try to install it on my laptop. Ive created the boot disk fine and
began the installation but once the installer begins it locks the system.
Here are the laptop specs:
Pentium 233Mhz
128MB RAM
Toshiba CD-Rom Drive (20x)
Touchpad (unkown brand)
This computer was made by Metrobook whihc is now out of buisness. I did try
to use the text installer and that even locks up. I read in the Mandrake
Readme that this CD is optimized for Pentium ??? systems and will no work on
older machines. Could this be the cause? Please help!
